Join us for an animated First Friday!

June 2, 2011

The weather will be great for a First Friday art walk tomorrow. Join us at our Kalamath studio, conveniently located near the Santa Fe art walk (and on the art walk shuttle route) for Colorado’s premiere animation meet and greet event. As always, we’ll be screening animation from Colorado and around the world. If you’ve got your animation on a disc or online, we’ll be glad to show it on our projector. See you then!

FRIDAY, June 3rd

Bill Plympton!

May 22, 2011

What can we say? We had an amazing few days with the legendary independent animator, Mr. Bill Plympton! Thank you Dylan Krider, the ASIFA Board and everyone who made these two events possible. We had an impressive turnout at the Bolt Factory on Saturday where Bill gave us an extensive breakdown of the history of how he got started, how his animations are made and the business of independent filmmaking from contracts to film festivals to distribution. Bill was kind enough to produce a drawing for everyone in attendance as well as hang out with us after the show!

Bill Plympton, Up Close and Personal!

April 27, 2011

ASIFA-CO will be hosting Bill Plympton on the afternoon of Saturday May 21st in Denver!

Meet the king of independent animation. Check out the Events page for all the details!

Introducing the Quarterly Member Highlight

April 12, 2011

We have just posted our very first Member Highlight. Please take a look to see a bit about the life and work of ASIFA-Colorado member Mike Williams.

We intend to update the Member Highlight page quarterly to profile an ASIFA-CO member that is chosen by the Board of Directors. Congratulations on being chosen for our inaugural profile Mike!

Member Highlight

Current Member Highlight:

Andy Mason!

Andy Mason’s Demo Reel

Andy Mason has been a consistent supporter of ASIFA-Colorado and is a familiar face at our events. Andy graduated this year with a degree in Media Arts & Animation from the Art Institute of Colorado and is seeking freelance animation work. His demo reel and portfolio have won awards and acclaim. We like that his style is expressive and varied in media and subject, yet always displays the touch of finely honed craftsmanship and dedication. His characters and designs are always vibrant and fresh. ASIFA-Colorado is happy to have Andy as a member, as well as a part of the Colorado art and animation community.

The ASIFA-Colorado Member Highlight is chosen quarterly by the ASIFA-CO Board of Directors.
