11/04 – First Friday Costumed Life Drawing with Tarena Davis at 209 Kalamath
7pm – 9pm
Come draw the rust out with us at this special life drawing event. The cost is only a small donation for the model, anything really. We will have cold and warm drinks, and snacks on hand. Tarena will be showcasing her fantastic costumes for us to draw!
Starz Denver Film Festival 34 Events
ANIMATION STATION Competition
Saturday, November 5
10am – 4pm
Using any animation technique available teams will have 6 hours to create their
own film. The animation theme will be announced at the competition. Teams
may bring their own materials including computers, however no images or
material created prior to the competition may be used. ASIFA-Colorado will
provide basic animation materials (clay, cutout material, drawing paper) as well
as cameras for capturing images. ASIFA-Colorado will also do minor editing to
put the animations on a timeline. The competition will be judged by the ASIFA-
Colorado board. Prize for best overall animation is $450, other prizes to be
offered.
Each team will also receive an invitation to a private screening of the animations
created during the workshops and competitions.
The workshops are in Room 444 in the Tivoli.
Registration is limited. $30 per team, $25 for DFS and ASIFA-Colorado
members. Team may be 1-3 participants.

Animation Station Workshop
Sunday, November 6
9am – 12pm: Ages 6 – 11
1pm – 4pm: Ages 12 and greater
Using traditional animation techniques participants will help create a short film.
The budding animators are invited to show up with a creative mindset and a
willingness to explore.
Each animator will also receive a voucher to see a film at the Starz Film Center
and an invitation to a private screening of any animations created during the
workshops.
The workshops are in Room 444 in the Tivoli.
Registration is limited. $15 per workshop attendee, discounts for DFS and
ASIFA-Colorado members.
