« Two Minutes for You » is the theme of this year’s workshop. Students will be asked as a team to express their ideas and messages freely in a 2 minute animation. Different topics may be approached: Peace, Food, Trees and so on – it’s up to the team to decide, of course. Students will be guided through the entire animation process from concept and choosing the animation technique, through final completion.  Each student completing the entire workshop program will get a VHS copy of the animation produced by the group.

ASIFA-Colorado was established in 2001 as a non-profit organization devoted to cultivating and promoting the art, craft and profession of animation. ASIFA-Colorado is a regional chapter of the international organization, Association Internationale du Film d'Animation (ASIFA).

There are over 30 ASIFA children workshops throughout the world, where children are aided in making animated films. Instructors are typically animators from around the globe and some productions include inernational collaborations. Students are thus introduced to animation from the inside and they are introduced to international understanding in the process.

Each year ASIFA promotes an international ASIFA Workshop Group (AWG) that encourages children to prepare an animated film for presentation. The AWG 2003/2004 project will premiere at the Hiroshima Animation Festival ( August 19-23, 2004 ). This is the first year ASIFA-Colorado will join AWG.
